John Ewart's 1642 Monument

John Ewart's monument is located at the gateway into St Cuthbert's Graveyard. The gateway was built in the 18th century but it's said that the stone used was from Kirkcudbright'd old town gate. Ewart's Monument was built in 1642 to commemorate his son's John & Andrew.
