A complete copper alloy tongue-shaped strap end, of Late Early Medieval dating (c. AD 850 to c. AD 1100). The strap end is tongue-shaped, with a rectangular attachment end. The attachment end still contains two circular sectioned copper alloy rivets. These have a diameter of 2.8 mm. The front of the plat has been decorated in high relief, with probably a Winchester-style foliate decoration surrounding a central motif, possibly a figure. The reverse is concave.
