In 1925, the Siemens-Schuckert production plant began manufacturing household equipment and radios under the Protos brand. Before that, the brand was owned by a German manufacturer of cars from Berlin. In 1908, Siemens-Schuckert acquired the company and moved it to Siemensstadt. Production under that brand was discontinued in the early 1940s. The shape of the vacuum cleaner resembles a bucket with a cover, in which the designers placed a centrifugal compressor, i.e., an impeller with radially installed blades. In 1926, at the Technical Department of the Agricultural University in Berlin the Protos vacuum cleaner received the best feedback, as the one that “has the best suction effect, large handles, is easy-to-use, and reliable, therefore it is best suited for removing house dust. It is very strong and well built.” Manufacturer: Siemens-Schuckert Werke, Germany, 1930s Inv. No. MIM817/IX-49 Model prepared on the basis of photogrammetric measurements Licence: CC BY-NC-SA
