Norite Sample #29 4-29-2020

Description

This metanorite (metagabbro containing orthopyroxene), from south of Bancroft, Ontario, contains visible crystals of black orthopyroxene and gray plagioclase. Lesser amounts of red garnet (which is a bit tough to pick out except in a few places) ar also present. Magnetite and pyrite can be seen in thin section. The specimen is 8 cm in longest dimension.
