Corba by Mezzavia Corba is a porter produced during the autumn, brewed with light, amber and dark malts and with german hops. Notes of toffee, coffee and hazelnut emerge from the glass, followed by toasted notes and moderate bitterness in the palate. Its light body and the great smoothness make it an easy drinking beer, that can be paired with cured meats and smoked cheeses, grilled meat, dark bread and chestnuts. The name (“basket”) comes from the so-called “piccioccus de crobi” (in sardinian “guys of the basket”), street orphans from the late 1800s and early 1900s in Cagliari who - as the London porters for whom the “porter” style grew up - carried goods up and down the city.
