The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians which starting at Docklands with Ron Barassi Snr Park along and finishing at Melbourne Airport. Despite a decision to build a new path in 2012, the existing trail has been problematic for years, such as paving cracking, fencing broken, tree guards leaning, rust on drainage pits, stains on stainless steel slatted seat… As this assignment is aiming to investigate the topic of decay and disruption in landscape, I listed 5 spots of decay found along the creek trail: 1. Concrete spalling 2. Rust at bottom of cattle rail bollard 3. Rail fence crack 4. Timber edge broken 5. Asphalt paving crack More details about each decays and the proposing of an intervention to impede those processes are annotated in the model and five panels(click document link).
