Nissan March Superturbo, super quirky 80's hot hatch (perhaps the hottest hatch). It was released in the late 80's as a last hoorah to the K10 March platform (or micra, if you're from the land of fish and chips. The Superturbo featured a 1.0 Litre inline-4 with a massive (for its size) turbocharger attached to. However, being 1980's and a 1.0 litre, there was massive turbo lag. Nissan, not wanting to let the big honkin turbo go, attached a clutch-activated supercharger to make up for the lag. As crazy as it sounds, it worked quite well, and had a quirky sound to it, too. Now the years have passed and that twin-charge system has played the uno-reverse card and its the reason most Superturbos are out of the road. According to Marty from MCM, less than 5 still exist in Australia.
