Serpentinized harzburgite, Point Sal ophiolite

Description

Thoroughly serpentinized (all olivine replaced) harzburgite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harzburgite) from the Point Sal ophiolite, California. Fine-grained orthopyroxene (enstatite-bronzite) forms the small brown crystals in the sea of almost black, featureless serpentine.
