Relief scene of a hippopatomus hunt on the North Wall of Chamber A1 in the 6th dynasty mastaba tomb of Mereruka, at Saqqara, Egypt. The panel as captured is1.25 m x .70 m in size. In depicts a hippo hunt in the marshes where four men are armed with harpoons with which are attacking three roaring hippos. Above the hunters men are carrying in the catch from fishing. A full publication of the tomb can be found in *The Mastaba of Mereruka, Parts I-II*, Oriental Institute Publications volumes [31](https://oi.uchicago.edu/research/publications/oip/mastaba-mereruka-part-i-chambers-1-10) and [39](https://oi.uchicago.edu/research/publications/oip/mastaba-mereruka-part-ii-chamber-11-13-doorjambs-and-inscriptions-chambers). Created from 170 photos (Canon EOS Rebel T5i, 18MP) using Metashape Professional 1.6.1. It was photographed in March 2019. Model is scaled to units in meters.
