The Granger House, a Registered Historical Place, is an example of Vermont “Federal Architecture” and was built in the early 1800's by Noadiah Granger with the help of Master-Joiner Thomas Reynolds Dake who specialized in creating the outstanding spiral staircase. It was the home of Noadiah Granger, his wife Rachel Moulton Granger and their 8 kids: Samuel, Harry, Pliny, Russell, Olive#1, Jane, Olive#2 and Sarah Granger. Rachel passed before Noadiah on March 14, 1821 at the age of 42. Noadiah married Lydia Irish and had 4 more children: Adaline, Caroline, George and Emaline Granger. In 2021 Castleton University received a $500,000 grant to creates internships, museum, and learning lab at Castleton's Granger House.
