Burdwan House, Bangla Academy (Exterior)

Description

Burdwan House is the main building of the Bangla Academy. Situated in Romna, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1955, this building has a prominent historical value. Following the Language movement, on 27 April 1952, the All-Party National Language Committee decided to demand the establishment of an organization to promote the Bengali language. The Culmination of that is the Bangla Academy. Also, the annual Ekushey Book Fair occurs every year in the complex surrounding this historical site. This is an initiative from the Project Earth Initiative.
