Social office in Mariupol

Description

**Context** Mariupol is a city of regional significance in Ukraine, Donetsk region. Located on the shores of the Sea of Azov, at the mouth of the river Kalmius. A significant port and industrial center of the country. **Problem** This project is designed for the student competition «Steel Freedom». The task of the competition was to design a social office using a metal case. As a result of the analysis of the environment, it was determined that the general problem of the city is the lack of connection between buildings and the environment. Most buildings are not inclusive, and the adjacent space is not comfortable for people to stay. **Solution** The project of the social office is made taking into account the functional requirements set in the terms of the competition. Preservation of existing pedestrian paths is the main conceptual idea of the project. This solution makes the ground floor integrated into the environment and improves interaction with site visitors.
