Scoria hand specimen

Description

A piece of scoria from Whareakeake (Murdering Beach) near the city of Dunedin, New Zealand. It is a volcanic rock that crystallised from gas-rich lava. The numerous pores in its surface started out as gas bubbles. Reconstructed using Agisoft Metashape.
