Right humerus and scapula from later medieval St Oswald's Priory, Gloucester. There is a compression fracture to the humerol head with secondary osteoarthritis. Note the soft tissue ossification near the attachment for the levator scapular muscle on the superior angle of the scapula. This bone was mounted and varnished for display before coming to Reading and was misdiagnosed as tuberculosis of the shoulder (see label).
