Roscommon Abbey - Sculptured stone

Description

This carving of two Medieval Beasts eating their tales was identified in the Dominican Priory, Roscommon by Jim Higgins and brought to the attention of Albert Siggins (RHASJ Vol 5. 1994). dated to the 15th C. they are a fine example of a medieval bestiary often found in medieval church sites.
