The presented snake (Romani sap) is a prop for larcenous magic. The item was made of paraffin or stearin, mixed with some dye, probably powdered charcoal. The mass was formed into a shape of a tiny snake with a red bead eye. The snake was obtained as a gift during one research expedition to Bulgaria, in which the staff of the District Museum in Tarnów – Adam Bartosz and Paweł Lechowski – participated. Inventory number: MT-E/4041 District Museum in Tarnów 1998, Kardam (Bulgaria) https://muzea.malopolska.pl/en/objects-list/1353
