Description

Green algae concretion (stromatolitic type, draping over sediments in very shallow water) from the crater lake of the Ries impact crater. Such algal reefs are analogous to the modern tufa in Mono Lake, California. Reimlingen quarry (Sportplatz), southern Germany.
