Accession LIV.2001.84 This seed pod has a hidden story. Its narrative is embedded in a capsule body. A geological deep time of stored memory, intelligence and an enduring will to survive. Osago Orange fruit (Maclura pomifera) This is the inedible fruit of a tree with an interesting past, the only surviving member of the genus Maclura. Its hard wood was used to make war-clubs and bows and Early European settlers used the tree as a timber resource and as an effective livestock hedge.
