### Roman Rural Landscapes in Noricum | PhD project The Roman rural site of *Gries/Oberndorf a. d. Melk* in Lower Austria is located on the left bank of the river Melk – geophysical surveys revealed archaeological structures that can be assigned to a Roman* villa rustica* located in the hinterland of the *limes* and of the Roman city *Aelium Cetium* (today's [Sankt Pölten](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sankt_P%C3%B6lten)). The site serves as case study within the Area of Special Interest of my PhD project [*'Roman Rural Landscapes in Noricum'*](https://rrl.univie.ac.at/forschung/rrln/) * Find it on [OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/240068869)
