by CityofBallarat in cultural-heritage-history
The history of this crucible has not yet been properly investigated, but is reputedly linked with the Eureka rebellion of December 3rd, 1854. It was donated to the City of Ballarat by Peter and Jennifer Harrison, in memory of Wolfgang Koerner, who was gifted the crucible from the grand daughter of a man directly involved in the Eureka Stockade.
