The shaft of a column

Description

The column shaft, devoid of any decoration, belongs to the group of Romanesque architectural details uncovered on the grounds of the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. It was made by a stonemason’s workshop employed for the construction of the medieval monastic complex in Tyniec. 11th/12th century, 12th century, Tyniec Museum of the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec Inventory number: DA/157/2012
