Brain endocasts of alligator & ostrich compared

Description

Brain endocasts of American alligator (*Alligator mississippiensis*, OUVC 10705) at left and ostrich (*Struthio camelus*, OUVC 10630) at right. Heads were scanned on the OUµCT, and these brain endocasts were segmented using Avizo by Ryan Ridgely and Cheyenne Romick, respectively. Ridgely then cleaned the models in Maya and uploaded to Sketchfab, where Witmer annotated them. These models were generated for the Field Museum of Natural History so that they could be 3D printed for an exhibit comparing them to a nonavian theropod dinosaur.
