Flint hand axe found in Boscombe, Hampshire. Our distant cousins, the Neanderthals continued the handaxe tradition but made them in a slightly different way. The handaxes they produced tended to be slightly smaller and sub-triangular in shape, with a flat base. Object in the Royal Pavilion & Museums' archaeological collections, digitised by the University of Brighton's Cultural Informatics team.
