Description

Iron and brass seal for the town of Mellonville. Mellonville was established in 1842 and surrounded Fort Mellon, a Seminole War era fort. In 1845 when Florida became a U.S. State, Mellonville became the county seat of Orange County. By 1883 Mellonville was encorpoated into the City of Sanford.
