Vanguard Exploration Project Structure III: Defensive Laser Outpost (single node) The Defensive Laser Outpost is a single node in a complex security system that ensures the safety of the Explorers, their resources, and any piece of architecture within a settlement's compound. Able to rotate 360 degrees at extreme speeds, the Outpost can quickly identify, communicate with, or engage wildlife, interlopers, or security threats. Each node is outfitted with a forward-looking infrared occulus, an energery collection bay, and three classes of lasers: non-lethal (I), life-threatening (II), and instantaneous vaporization (III). A single settlement may utilize as many as thirty nodes to create a security grid.
