Malignite sample #18 04-24-2020

Description

Malignite is the name given to nepheline syenite that contains abundant pyroxenes and other mafic minerals. The black lathes are augite and a few flakes of black biotite are also visible. Most of the light material is sanidine. The minor nepheline is hard to pick out. The sample is 8.5 cm long.
