Born: January 7, 1894- San Franscisco, CA Died: Nov 30 1977- Charleston, SC (aged 83) A 1917 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant assigned to the 10th Infantry Brigade. During WWI he fought in the Battles of San Mihiel and the Meuse Argonne where he was badly wounded. In 1920 he was transferred to the Coast Artillery Corps. As a Major, he returned to school and received his Master's Degree from Harvard Business School in 1932. Prior to WWII, he was promoted to Colonel. In 1943, by order of General Mark Clark, Sullivan was made Quartermaster of the Fifth Army in Italy. He served as General Clark's Quartermaster through the North African campaigns. In 1945 he was promoted to Brigadier General and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and Legion of Merit. In the Korean War, he was Quartermaster for the Far Eastern Command in Tokyo. He received the Purple Heart, Silver Star, and the Cross of Malta. In 1959 he retired from the Army after forty years' service.
