Standing stone known locally as the Scurriestone, Ballater, Scotland. The Scurriestone formerly marked the point where the road diverges to the ford of the Dee and the ford of the Muick : - Scairth 'a ford'. The stone started to tilt in 1980 so was pushed over for safety. The Estate re-erected the stone on a concrete base after the hole was trowelled out by an archaeologist. Minimal packing stones were found and no features of archaeological interest.
