Trench 4 at Wheldrake is located over the enclosure entrance, where the massive inner ditches reach a huge gateway. The [Ouse and Derwent Project](https://www.facebook.com/IAOuseandDerwent/) is a three year community project examining the Iron Age landscape in the Vale of York. It is funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
