Description

Eclogitized metagabbro from the Allalinhorn (Swiss Alps). Originally it is an olivine gabbro rich in magnesium, and it is part of the ophiolite complex derived from the Mesozoic oceanic lithosphere of the Thetys. Mattmark dam, Valais, Switzerland.
