# Missile Turret Drone The huge cargo loads transported by space freighters often create ‘dead zones’ that prevent the crew from effectively seeing and responding to threats. To counteract this, freight ships usually carry a compliment of auxiliary drones. Using small maneuvering thrusters, the drones fly out and attach themselves to outer portions of the cargo load and serve to augment ship’s sensors, beacons, weaponry, etc. When required, the drones can fly back for an energy recharge from special sockets on the mother ship. This missile turret drone has its own targeting sensor and boasts eight, pre-loaded missile tubes. Mounted on the side is a charged particle cannon (“charpac”) which can be brought to bear when all the missiles have been fired. Such drones come from the **Stardrifter** universe.
