This is a plastinated human heart donated for research. This plastinate has been cut in the textbook view of the four heart valves. On the left are the preserved atria in a mirrored position. This donor was a 47 year old female with a history of hypertension, high cholesterol, renal failure, and ovarian cancer. We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
