* Period/Epoch: Triassic * Rock Formation: Unknown * State, County: Unknown Taxonomy: Reptilia>Trilophosauria>Trilophosauridae>Trilophosaurus sp. Trilophosaurus was a genus of archosauromorph reptile from the Late Triassic of North America. They were herbivorous reptiles that grew up to 2.5 meters long. Their skulls are oddly shaped because they lack a common reptilian skull opening, possibly to strengthen the skull. Trilophosaurus lacked teeth in the fronts of their mouths, which could have had a keratinous beak instead of the leaf-shearing teeth typically found with them. This specimen shows a lower jaw with teeth in-place. Scanned with the David SLS-2
