After reading this experiment (https://peterfalkingham.com/2017/05/25/photogrammetry-testing-10-micmac/) by Dr Peter Falkingham on the Styracosaurus dataset using MicMac, I tried getting better results. The main differences were using the "Statue" mode in the command C3DC in order to get a more complete dense point cloud. Another difference is exporting the orientation to an NVM project (Apero2NVM) so I can get a better texture projection using TexRecon. I needed to re-bake the texures using Blender 3D to get a single texture file though. The main difficulty with that dataset is that the exposition seems to change and so MicMac can easily lose part of the dataset while trying to create the dense point clouds. However, using the Statue mode in C3DC seemed to be more robust and recovered more points. MicMac seems to required a very strict photo capture protocol. Fortunately, by doing so we can profit from the very big dataset crushing capabilities of MicMac (memory wise), if you are patient enough.
