Spinothalamic Tract 10/13/21

Description

This model represents the Spinothalamic tract within the spinal cord. This sensory pathway communicates nociceptive (pain), temperature and crude touch information from the body to the brain using the spinal cord. Axons carrying this information transmit into the spinal cord at each spinal cord segment. In this representation this process is shown in only two cross sections: C7 and L1. Because this is an ascending pathway, the annotations begin where sensory information enters the spinal cord.
