This is a basic viking sword bearing the incsription +ULFBERH+T. This sword was made out of crusible steel, a strain of steel that wouldn't have been rediscovered for another 1000 years in Europe. These swords did span the entire Viking Age ranging from ca. 800AD-1200AD.
