Description

 In 2018, Archeologie West-Friesland conducted archaeological research in Enkhuizen on the plots Westeinde 88-90. Among other, an old well of the inhabitants from the Golden Age was found on the site. The well had been used as a dump and among the waste the sherds of a total of five dishes with Biblical scenes were found. These are witnesses of the Catholic community in Protestant West-Friesland. They were not allowed to confess their faith publicly and therefore decorated their private rooms with these biblical scenes.
