Cloontuskert - Cross (menorah)

Description

Cloontuskert is an early ecclesiastical site, traditionally founded by St Faithlec, the site has a large number of cross-slabs and inscribed stones from various periods located around the graveyard. - The menorah or seven branch candle is typically associated with the Jewish tradition but was also incorporated in Medieval christian art and found in both Samartian and Chrisitan context.
