Description

The Sentinel Class was intended to directly replace the Sol Class Destroyer, which had been serving for over 200 years at the time of the Sentinel's commission. Armorment: 8x "Gladius" Ray Cannon 26x "Scimetar" Laser Cannon 2x "Javalane" Compressed Array Lasers Maximum Sublight: 0.94c Maximum Superlight: 830c Hyperspace Jump Range: Classified Phalanx II Intergrated Defense Network Length: 890m Crew: 970 Cost per Unit: 4.5 Trillion (at start of the production run down to 4.35 Trillion after 27 ships) Some may note the large number of antennae present. While some of these are standard short-range communication arrays most of them are part of the ship's passive detection system, which measure distortions in space-time (gravity) to detect ships and other bodies at ranges in excess of 90 lightyears in real-time.
