Egypt was one of the if not the most prosperous and advanced civilizations in their period but they were very resistant from using coins as a way of money. The last period of native Egyptians Pharaohs consisting of eight Pharaohs or the 28th to 30th Egyptians dynasty. The last of these Pharaohs Takhos (Teos) and Nectabebo II seem to have produced coins of their own. The coin was likely to be used to pay soldiers and Greek mercenaries. The 3d model you are viewing is a virtual model of the original coin in the British Museum. The coin weighs 8.17 gram and is not for display in the British Museum.
