Drinking Horn

Description

The year was 1074 AD. Croatian king Petar Krešimir IV was captured by Normans under count Amico of Giovinazzo's command. When he was liberated, Amico gave him this horn as a reminder of this event. It is engraved with Croatian traditional ornament "pleter"( interlace ) and has inscription in glagoljica, old Croatian alphabet.
