Katagon-class Destroyer

Description

The Katagon-class was designed by the Gorsa as a cheap front line vessel. While their hulls are more compact than most other Destroyers', Katagons are nonetheless able to hold their own in a skirmish. The minimal and round design allows for more weapon emplacements, making them ideal to cut enemy lines by maneuver the Destroyers between the enemy ships. Originally scheduled to begin mass production by the end of 2235, not a single ship was manufactured after the Republic suddenly withdrew it's navy from the sector and the rise of pirates cut the production of required resources. With Gorsa joining the Confederation, the blueprints were given in exchange for protection from the pirates.
