Follow your local building codes. This gambrel shed plan has not been reviewed by an engineer. An engineer should review any building before construction. Upper gambrel roof is at a 5/12 pitch. Shed walls 2x4" lumber 16" on center. One 32 1/2" x 82 1/2" rough opening for a single exterior door with a 2x12" header. Windows can be added where desired. Joists are 2x10", Rafters are 2x8" (lower Rafter is birdsmouth jointed to top plate and joist), 2 2x8 Purlins connect the lower and upper Rafters, a 2x8" Ridge board is supported by the 2x4" upper walls, 2x collar ties connect paired upper Rafters and increase rigidity in the roof. Hurricane ties and other hardware should be used. Upper walls include space for 2'x3' window. Upper Rafter is 5' 9 1/2" on its longest side, measure 3" from opposite and trim to 67.5° on either end. Lower Rafter is 5' 8 11/16" on its longest side, measure 3" from opposite and trim to 67.5° on either end. Measure 7 9/16" at a 90° on lowest end & back 3 1/8" for birdmouth.
