On a low drumlin overlooking Lough Nahircha c. 500m to ESE. An early Christian foundation (burned in 790 AD) still in use in the medieval period (burned again in 1398 AD). A fragment of a cross inscribed grave slab is mounted on the inner face of the reconstructed E gable of the church. This is Old Red Sandstone (dims. 0.3m x 0.2m) with a ringed cross and a radial inscription in the spandrels '.N GAL.' and dating between 8th C and 10th C - Similar stones exist at Cloontuskert and Clonown
