Hemicyclaspis (Silurian jawless fish)

Description

This is a beautiful fossil (specimen BU 2469) of the Silurian jawless fish *Hemicyclaspis murchisoni*, from the Downton Castle Sandstone Formation of Gornal, West Midlands, UK. The specimen is on display at the Lapworth Museum of Geology, in the Evolution of Life gallery. Specimen digitised using an Artec Spider 3D scanner by University of Birmingham Palaeobiology & Palaeoenvironments undergraduate student Luke Meade.
