Paper-Quilled Violin

Made with 3df zephyr free, using 42 photos. I've tried to scan extremely thin objects before, but I never had much luck... This time around I tried to eliminate any background, and exstensively used the masking tool. It turned out O.K., except for the left side... I'm not sure why it couldn't reconstruct some of that. I took plenty of photos of it. Even though I used masquerade to distinguish the foreground and background of every photo, it still included the white background in the final model. You can still see a few polygons around that were left when I was finished trimming. The colour select tool that is available for editing the final model wasn't quite capable of trimming them to my liking. Quilling is a hobby I picked up a couple of years back... As an avid violinist, this was one of the first pieces I created. It's about 5 3/4", or 14.5 cm long.
