This specimen, from a museum case at the University of North Dakota, was labeled "linnaeite on calcite from Bingham, New Mexico." But, this description seems incorrect. Close examination suggests the blue mineral is linarite, a hydrated lead copper sulfate. There is also a small amount of a light green mineral, most likely brochantite, a hydrated copper sulfate, present. The light colored matrix is mostly barite.
