From Pit-to-Port

Description

From Pit-to-Port Created during COMSC Placement 2021 Cardiff University This sculpture made by Jon Buck and John Clinch, commemorates the contribution of all of the people who formed the link in the chain between exports at Cardiff Docks and the coal mining industry in the Welsh Valleys. This sculpture was finished in 2005 and features a life size coal miner leaning against a dram containing a pit winding wheel, smoking factory chimney and ship, symbolical of the cycle of the coal industry which the docklands are well known for. The reconstruction is not 100% accurate. This 3D model was made using Meshlab and edited using Autodesk recap photo.
