Description

Stone sculpture found near the St. Olav’s Church in Avaldsnes, Rogaland - Norway in 1922. Decorative part of a stone building, either the church or the adjacent royal hall. The sculpture depicts a mans head with locks of hair. Made of soap stone but has become heavily worn during the course of time. Museums ID: S11724
