Atorvastatin (Lipitor) & Mevastatin (Compactin)

Description

Side-by-side comparison of the structures of a Type II and Type I statins to highlight the structural similarities and differences. The Atorvastatin structure was extracted from the x-ray crystal structure 1HWK on the RSCB Protein Databank and the Mevastatin from 1HW8.
